  • Great Corton-Charlemagne! Rich, but extremely well balanced with poise and grace. Well integrated oak of the flinty/gunpowdery kind with rich fruit flavours of the non-simple kind. Hard to describe, I suppose canned pears, fresh mint, lemon, stone fruits, and a character reminding me of the finest, well aged scotch whiskies, that have been matured in first-fill Bourbon casks. I'm very familiar with the style and this had notes in that direction - which by the way many CC's have had over the years from different producers. Loved this!
