I don't remember how this made its way into my cellar (a gift from someone), but I'm so glad it did! Full-bodied, dark violet showing a bit of reddish-brown just on the edges with a medium plus nose of dark fruits, cedar, and some light florals. On the palate, blackberry fudge with a hint of smoked almond as it opened up more (on the second night). Decadent but still dry and delicious.

James Suckling - Great Wines of the Andes (The Presidio, SF): (45% tannat, 25% cf, 20% marcellain, 10% pv) Opaque. Fudgy dark chocolate with blackberry nose. Full bodied, medium plus acid, high alcohol, high tannins. Bitter chocolate finish.
A good example of a ripe red wine style.
14.5% alcohol, 3g RS 20 months in 25 and 50 hl untoasted(?!) French oak.
