Not quite up to the standards of the old Bovio Barberas of the 1990's and 2000's, but still a delicious product. Will see if it will blossom over time, since the older ones needed 8-10 years to really show. The nose here currants, some spice. The palate is dark with some earth, spices, good acidity balancing it out and giving it some bite.

Dark deep ruby red. Clean but light nose of redcurrant, red cherries, cinnamon and clove. Dry, medium plus body, medium acidity and low tannin on the palate. Similar flavors as in the nose with a subtle floral hint. Not extremely complex but good value and very enjoyable.

Disappointed in this first bottle from a case. Barnyard nose which was not apparent in the first bottle I had from WTSO. Am hoping the next is more reflective of the first. If not, I will assume the wines in the NJ store where the case came from does not monitor their storage temps. To be clear, WTSO bottle was wonderful. The NJ store I ordered a case from, I can not recommend.

About the same as the previous bottle. Might be a little more evolved. Quite a lovely drink even if not like it was 15-20 years ago.

The remaining bottles in the case have been lovely. I will purchase again.
