Two hour decant. Blackberry, spices, and some funky aromas. Lots of Asian spice and cranberry on the palate. Still lots of tannins and acidity. Needs to soften to really come around. I think that this needs a couple more years. Could add a few points then.
Very nice nose of blackberry, cardamon, cranberry, black cherry - medium weight fragrance. At first it seems linear and tannic, but as it opens up it becomes a sappy nuanced juice of blackberry, hints of licorice - starts thin but becomes almost a medium intensity. Good balance on acidity and sweetness. Nice medium long finish. Very enjoyable. Not at all green which yet again reinforces the point that you cannot paint a vintage with a broad brush. This has fruit, nuance, and terroir. Those who have a doctrinaire point of view on the vintage or any vintage for that matter are missing out and actually missing the point of Burgundy.
