(Cordeillan Bages) I have always had a special place in my heart for this wine as the first time I had it was at the actual restaurant and drank the '85 and '90. Also recently went through a small stash of the '96. This is one sauvage bottle of Bordeaux. Some funk on the nose and slight bell pepper. Along with tobacco, cassis and some minerality. The palate was finesse with some low acids but some harshness on the finish. Some dry tannins and a hint of greenness. Maybe it will resolve with time.

The nose is restrained. Blackcurrants on tasting giving a smooth & pleasant experience. Some tannis suggesting it still has more aging.

Chateau Lynch-Bages Wine Dinner with Monsieur Jean-Charles Cazes (The Petroleum Club, Sky Lobby, Dallas, Texas): I really enjoyed this wine--nice earthy aromas intermixed with black currant, blackberries and strawberries. Incredibly interesting finish--this wine certainly has a great future in front of it.
