nice nose; good, perfectly ripe fruit, spice, dirt and flowers; prominent creamy/mocha oak influence, which is well done (but much more than i prefer), and outlasts the fruit on the finish; not my style.

It’s been awhile since having Byron and this was excellent. Barely showing some signs of age with just a touch of rim variation.
Nice nose with typical blackberry cherry but also some spice/black tea and some earthy notes which after an hour decant blew off.
Alcohol is not an issue and acidity is still vibrant and the body is med+. This has balanced out nicely and great example of La Encantada fruit while still having balance and not just that cherry or cola typical of some CA Pinot. Would drink now with 1hr+ decant or over next 5 years easily.

Four Byrons: Medium ruby color. Enticing aromas of raspberries, blackberry and strawberry jam, this is a darker, saucier aromatic display with notes of sweet cola, rhubarb, rose petals and barbecue sauce. Medium-bodied on the palate with velvety tannins and medium acidity. Pretty black cherries, raspberries and summer plums, backed up by menthol, earth, roasted chestnut. Elements of rhubarb, white pepper and mushroom add complexity. Fruit but deep, accessible but can age. Aged 15 months in 55% new French oak.
