  • Served in Radikon glass (“Flower” day): Deep golden to the eyes.

Yellow mango peels and golden orchard fruits and stone fruits like apricots, some nice floral notes too. Very slight hint of sardine-like savouriness that adds to the experience.

Good acidity. A little tannins and edging on bitterness on the back end. Gentle finish with good length.

    92 points.

  • Pretty deep golden color. First slightly closed, opening up quickly. Showing much better than my last bottle, at least at the beginning. Fascinating notes of cammomile, dried peach and apricot, crushed stones and savory herbs. It‘s full-bodied and dense, with lower acidity and a touch of tannin. With some more air, some slight notes of oxidation are creeping in. Long finish. 2nd time of this bottling and 2nd time it leaves a split impression. It‘s unique in flavors, fascinating, but could use some more freshness and the slight oxidative note is worrying me a little. 2nd and last bottle... maybe I just don‘t get this wine really.
On a side note, this wine paired incredibly well with Angry Chicken (a Morimoto recipe with bold flavors and a spicy chili sauce). I didn't see this coming as I thought the lower acidity and slight tannin wouldn't work with the heat. It did.... big time.

  • Tasted with a lot of distractions in an informal setting. Deep golden, almost orange color. Interesting notes of dried peach, savory herbs, some crushed stones and spices. It's pretty full-bodied and dense, with recognizable tannin. Not a bad wine by any means, but lacks a little in focus and also acidity for its size. I bought this after I thoroughly enjoyed the "regular" Vitovska 2011 which is from my perspective showing better and has more freshness. A slight disappointment. Maybe a little more bottle-age will help.
