Deep ruby colour with no bricking. Aromatically slightly holding back: aromas of red cherries, a hint of gauze, black olives and some more floral notes lurking in the background. The palate is still surprisingly young: very well balanced between elegant red fruit with just the right amount of sweetness, grippy nebbiolo tannins and acidity. Medium bodied. Just a touch of bitterness and dustiness - probably coming from the tannins.

Not completely in balance for the moment. Need some more years. Better day 2. Have great potential. Big body and a lot of fruit. Feels a little bit oaky today even if just in Slavonian botti.

Completely closed for the first two days and with ruthlessly unapproachable tannins. But on day three, this really started to shine and had all the hallmarks of a Barbaresco. A pleasant nose without any hugely defining characters other than some aniseed. The palate displays dark cherries, roses, plenty of bitumen and orange peel. A web of raspy tannins coat the mouth, leading to a long finish. This needs at least five years, more likely 10 years to enter its drinking window.

The ‘16 Langhe Nebbiolo was oververt and jammy with intense sweet spices. On the palate, I found ripe black cherry and blackberry fruits with sweet herbs, yet little depth. It finished short with a coating of sweet grapey fruit and hints of chewy tannin.

Nice Nebbiolo. Still young. Moderate tannins but bouquet still trapped for several hours. It was great when I got to the last of my last glass.
