Some Italian Wines with friends; 6/14/2015-6/15/2015 (Local upscale Italian Restaurant): Deep golden in color. This bottle offered up some interesting notes but was partly oxidized and went downhill quickly with air. At 13, it would have been ambitious but the cork crumbled and there it is. Still, it has a lovely texture and shows some depth. Dale, who brought it, said this was the last bottle of a case that drank well as recently as two years ago. Oh well, time to move on.

'Sweet' smelling, rich honeyed aromas - although a touch of the medicinal (elastoplast / TCP). Rich, oily palate, some decent fruit but no particular excitement. Seems like Garofoli didn't really have a very successful 2003 vintage given how the Podium turned out.

Conclusion : intéressant, le temps à fait son oeuvre, oxydation bien engagée, demeure frais malgré tout. En déclin certain. Boire sans attendre.
Observation complémentaire : bouchon de piètre qualité, sec, friable, au surplus collé, qui s'est désagrégé à l'ouverture. 87-
