If you had to put this on a California-to-Burgundy spectrum, it belongs on the Burgundy end. A little bit of VA on opening, and pretty leesy as well, with some citrus and apple fruit which has to compete with the oak influence. I like the balance, but honestly I think it needs a little more fruit to be appealing or to be considered a candidate for aging. While certainly one of the better chardonnays I've had from the east coast, and while I don't want to come across as snarky, the person who thinks this is a 95 pointer probably hasn't tried a GC white burgundy.

A very pleasant surprise. Dinner with Jane and Mitch. I thought this was better than the wines we tasted at One Woman earlier in the day. Smooth wine. Delicious. Sorry, no notes.
