  • Last bottle from a batch purchased directly, almost in the "forgotten bottles" category"...splash decanted, drank over 2 hours.

Prior notes: "Deep purple color, huge nose from decant. Big black fruit, blueberries, baking spices, pepper, anise. Smoky back palate, extracted fruits..."

This bottle fully mature, smooth...still has the dark fruit profile, mulberry (?), dusted blackberry, spices/pepper, nicely balanced throughout. Drinking well, will be at its best over next 3 years (IMO). Great bottle and producer, fun to have tasted this over its development.

  • No formal notes, put in a decanter, a bit peppery and earthy, some pruniness. It came together at the 30-45min mark, I think this on is as good as it gets. Solid wine, bought this recently for $34, at that price point a solid QPR. Low 90s.

  • At home with a "True Chile Verde" recipe...needed something big top stand with the spice (mild green chilis, pork)...decanted for about 45 minutes

Deep purple color, huge nose from decant. Big black fruit, blueberries, baking spices, pepper, anise. Smoky back palate, extracted fruits.

Consistent with prior notes. Right in its zone. Probably best to drink over next 3 years, but seems like it will last longer

  • At home with Meredith's chicken chili...needed something big to stand up to some spice. This one has been in my cellar for a few years.

Decanted and drank over 90 minutes. Deep garnet/purple color, huge nose from decant. Big black fruit, blueberries, baking spices, pepper, anise. Smoky back palate, extracted fruits. Gorgeous texture,

New world Rhone with a layered and complex finish. Really in its zone right now. Much more interesting (from memory) than the last bottle of this I had. I think this has some hang time - my guess is it goes to 2020+

  • See previous notes, with there not being many in general..... Cassis squared; pepper, spice and black fruit. Tons of terroir; there's this Northern Rhone aspect with retention of New-World fruit. No jam, none what so ever and there is balance though out. Drink now - 2016.
