Dark and opaque ruby red still with a hint of bricking. Nose reveals some leather, oak, and floral tones. Slightly acidic attack with dried cherry and dark fruits but balances out. Hint of minerality.

(ORNELLAIA LE SERRE NUOVE) #1; COLOR-nice; NOSE-nice, black cherry, clove, dark chocolate; TASTE-nice complexity, very rich & full, very young, big & full, but well rounded, good structure, not traditional Italian flavor profile, more new world, but not over the top, little candied strawberry & blackberry currant on the finish, very luscious, a STEAL @ this price; WS-92; GV-92

Great nose of dried fruit and balsamic. Smooth and weightless. Graceful, charming and mature. Wonderful with lamb slider, charred onion and pancetta.

You can still taste what it was but it is overdone. Sad.
