Sadly past it's best. Old faded fruit is hidden behind walls of old oak and dried tannin. Drinkable, but just with vague old-wine-y character. I've had good younger bottles of this wine that scream of menthol, strawberries and camphor, all bright fruited and delicious... Which i'm sure this was about 6-8 years ago, but not any more. Re-tasted the following night and it was gone.

Flavours of wild raspberry, plum wine, prune and dark chocolate. Emerging hint of white vinegar. Smooth and light-bodied, but still with intense flavour. Firm acid balances the intense fruit, but tannins are almost imperceptible. This is near the end of it's life.

Quite appealing and perfumed on nose showing plum, black fruits, capsicum, mint and spice. Full bodied on palate, smooth and rich but simple profile. still a bit tannic and the finish is a little bitter. overall good but not great.

Auswine offline (Trevi Restaurant, Sydney): Deep purple/red. Raw nose, especially after the Bests. Violently aggressive raspberries and strong charry oak. Very raw and unintegrated on the palate – but reasonably balanced none-the-less – I think this will turn into a nice wine, but it really needs some time to meld together. Large and powerful, but clearly not ready yet.
