  • This pours medium ruby in the glass. The nose is aromatic, rich and ripe featuring blueberry pie, nutty baking spice, cinnamon, stewed mulberry, and faint eucalyptus. Not all that much complexity but the profile is modern leaning but not overdone. The palate enters on rich and ripe blueberry pie filling. There might be the lightest pinch of RS, but again not as bad as extreme modernists. Tannin is medium minus and velvety with medium acid. It's possible this saw some acidification, but again not egregious. The finish fizzles out a tad quickly leaving behind blueberry jam. All in all for the style this is quite nicely done, but I have to admit there isn't a lot of genuine complexity here and this isn't terribly aligned to my palate.

  • Still young and this is a big wine. Decanted it for 1.5 hours before dinner, then better the next day after storing it overnight- but still tightly wound. Shows good potential to age, get more and try I. 4 years or more.
