On the nose, toasted orange rind, unlit tobacco, peat smoke, fresh lime, body sweat, sea spray, the smell of chalk dust from clapping erasers at the end of class, curry powder.
On the palate, toasted anise, Basque cheesecake, toasted walnuts, maple syrup, mezcal. Intensely mineral and saline. Ripping acidity does it’s best to balance the alcohol.
I have not had Vin Jaune in quite some time. This was a shock to the system. Truly outstanding. I love it now but can’t wait to try it again in a few years.

Much more fino / manzanilla than oxidized in character. Good but didn’t blow me away.
