  • Decanted for 3 hours. Served with Chuck roast, potato and asparagus. Great red fruit and peppery spice notes. Felt very well balanced and versatile for food pairing. Be aware of sediment while decanting.

  • Served by a friend to accompany Moroccan lamb. Deep orangey / Burgundian colour. The nose shows red berry fruits, spice, caramel, tobacco. The palate starts a little harsh but soon softens to show blackcurrant, spice and sour cherries. The finish is long tending to orange peel. Despite its 10 years age, I think this is still a little young and either needs a good decant or another couple of years in bottle.

  • 50mm natural cork enclosure. Medium garnet in colour. Notes of sweet spice, cedar, leather, stewed fruit, raspberry, dark fruit. This is probably has it’s drinking window beginning to close - depends if you’re a fan of tertiary red wine notes. It’s drinking well, don’t get me wrong. Dry. Medium intensity on the nose but pronounced on the palate. The acidity is med, as is the body. Tannins are med(+). Nice balance and decent length which is slightly acidity carried.

  • Powerfull, heavy, too low on acidity to maintain freshness

  • Brought this to Tung Lok Signatures @ Orchard Rendezvous Hotel for dinner with my wine mates. Theme of the evening: Old world wines not from France, Italy, Germany and Spain.

A blend of Syrah and Cabernet Sauvignon, the two grape varietals each contribute to the wholesomeness of the wine. The Syrah brings endurance and tenacity to the wine, while the Cabernet brings showsmanship and flashiness to the table.

A very different style to the Aussie Syrah- Cabernet Sauvignons, this is more serious and old world in style and character.
