This Bordeaux style blend included 40 percent Merlot, 29 percent Cabernet Franc, 18 percent Petit Verdot, and 13 percent Cabernet Sauvignon.
We're now six years from vintage, and I think this is in a nice drinking window now. The flavors were balanced and integrated, and tannins were smooth.
With four of the Bordeaux grapes being used in the blend, there's something for every stage of the sip. I think the Cab Franc is contributing some blue fruit and herbs when the wine first hits your tongue. The Merlot and Cab Sauv give a nice midpalate, while the Petit Verdot gives strong dark flavors on the finish.
If it were my blend, though, I would increase the Cab Sauv percentage, and decrease the Merlot and Petit Verdot. The midpalate was nice, but the attack and finish just had a lot more verve.

Hommage a DryCab - Washington Wines release; 5/3/2018-5/5/2018 (Various spots in Walla Walla): From the Vino Volo in Seattle. Maybe my least favorite of the flight. I think I am reacting to the alcohol here which is a bit too much compared to the others. It's almost the opposite coming of a 2011 cadence which is more muted and restrained. This is more intense. Still ok in the acidity that helps balance, but a wine that maybe wants another year or two to calm down.
