Broad and generous, primarily melon and yellow nectarine fruit, with bread, vanilla and cashew undertones and a full, hefty body. Tried side-by-side with their 2014 original release, very similar as you'd expect, so good to know our storage is half decent.

Nose of intense leather, pepper & peanuts, hints of citrus. Smooth and elegant entry with apple notes, perfect balance of dry and sweet that drifts into pleasant acidity later on the palate. Very high degree of substance and authority, luscious texture and creamy mouthfeel. Beautiful.

Pierro - Cellar Door Tasting (Pierro Vineyard, 4051 Caves Rd, Wilyabrup WA 6280, Australia): At the cellar door....a special pour for us as it is not normally offered and is only made in exceptional years (VR stands for 'Vintage Reserve'). Light straw gold. A 'wow!' nose of burned lemons and charred old French oak. Very fresh and Burgundian but with that classic Margaret River lemon and lime purity. Palate is light but with real power. Very resonant and reverberant...it feels like the inside of your head has become the inside of a cathedral. Wow.... Great medium acidity. Rounded pebbles. Lots of layers. Still young but very beautiful. Near silence-creating. This beat the Leeuwin Art Series and the Vasse Felix Heytsbury for me and was the Margaret River Chardonnay I bought to take home. 94+

By far the best Chardonnay ever tasted...Winemaker has come out and said 2015 is his best ever...to our taste the 2014 is even better. No other wine transports us to the place this takes you
