Shane's 6th Annual Game Dinner - Game & Truffle (Chateau Lea, New Jersey): Decanted to get some air. Brought by another attendee to the game dinner. Tast Ed as guests arrived. A little rubber hose on the nose and florals with pear and lemon. Bright acidity. Pear, hyacinth citrus and a little bitter lemon on the palate. Really lovely

Lovely wine at this stage. Just starting to pick up a little golden color. Perfumed of exotic fruit. Large mouth feel. Precise Riesling fruit. Dry but so much evolved fruit. Medium to good acidity. Balanced. Excellent example of a fine Alsatian dry Riesling. Long living wine.

Brought by a friend, PnP and tasted over several hours and again the next morning. I thought it was a actually a little more interesting at room temp the next day. The wine is gorgeous lemon yellow with a hint of gold. Light white flower and lemon peel on the nose along with slight apple and pear. Palate throughout was intensely mineral rather than floral or fruited however. Bone dry. Great texture and mouth feel. Very good not great acidity (medium+ rather than high), slightly bitter finish. Little to no petrol. My gut on this is it needs another decade in the cellar. The next day it seems almost tannic and in need of air. Those who like the sense of “rocks” in their wine would love this. I like the minerals too but I also like some balancing fruit which was a touch lacking at this time.

Last bottle and I never thought it would hold up this long. Again a beautiful paring with spicy salmon dish.
