First bottle of this varietal, I found it crisp and refreshing, with bracing acidity and a vein of minerality covered in stone fruit. Lemon is apparent as well, which adds a little complexity.

100% Vermentino (Corsican clone) from west facing parcels in Le Sondraie vineyard in Bolgheri with ~10 yr old vines. Manual harvest; soft pressed, stainless steel tank fermentation at 16*C. No malolactic; aged in steel tanks on fine lees. 14.5% Abv. Proprietor: Poggio al Tesoro is a project in Bolgheri (Toscana) of the Verona-based Allegrini Estates.
A(ccuray)=2: Bright straw/yellow/gold. Refined, aromatic varietal. B(alance)=3: Exquisite with firm, tightly woven components. C(omplexity)=2: Ripe tropical citrus, minerality. D(epth)=1: Supple mouthfeel. Average length and finish.
Wine Tally Score [2,3,2,1] = 8/10
Prime example of distinction between fruitiness and sweetness.

Nice lemony with some herbal notes. Like lemonade on a freshly cut lawn.

Peach notes, but with a certain zestiness and bite. Paired with pesto one night (perfect!) and crab cakes the next. Glad I have more.
