Orange-amber in color Hot nose. Lots of Christmas cake. Raisins and oranges. Surprisingly smooth. Tastes like the nose. Shortish finish. For the price, there is nothing wrong with this at all. I can see why it popular. Good bar stock and great in mixed cocktails like Hot Toddies.

Certainly not a fine French brandy (aged armagnac is my fav) but it satisfies the craving for those of us on a budget. I don't know how they can produce this product and ship it to it's destination in the USA then sell for $20-$30 a bottle but I'm glad they do. There is a touch of cooked vegetables in the nose that isn't noticed when sipping. This one I have now is quite silky and not lacking in enjoyable flavor. I would easily bet a few bucks it is caramel colored, but hey, the dye and perfume addicted crowd do make up the majority.

Practice tasting for Unit 4 Spirits Exam of WSET Diploma; 2/27/2016-2/28/2016 (Warfield): Appearance: This is clear with a medium amber colour. Nose: The nose is clean showing medium intensity aromas of raisins, sultanas, caramel. This is matured. Palate: This is dry in the mouth with warming alcohol. It has a medium body and light intensity flavours of raisins, sultanas, caramel. The finish is short and some complexity. Conclusion: It is a good quality spirit. It has good typicity, alcohol could be better integrated, simple cognac with short finish.

Moderately sweet. The flavour is not as pleasant as Courvoisier VSOP. The aftertaste is a wee bit like armagnac; it is long but not as pleasant as other cognacs I drink. Good (81.5-82.5).
