Bursting with roses, mushrooms, tar, cocoa, and savory herbs on the beautiful bouquet. Much of the same continues on the racy palate, which comes together and settles down after a few hours decant. Drink or hold.

Popped and poured. The 2014 “Castelletto” is garnet with an transparent core and very slight staining of the tears. On the nose, cherry lozenge, roses, dried green herbs, tomato leaf. On the palate, the wine is dry, high tannin, medium++ acid. On the palate, cherry candy, cherry raisin, dried earth and iron minerals. A little thin. Long finish. The nose is more interesting than the palate at this stage. I gotta wonder if time will be kind to the 2014 vintage? Anyway, fun to check in on.

Young angular wine with strong perfume of roses, tea leaves and notes of clay with mouthful of tannins that paired amazingly with a meat lovers pizza. The evolution of this wine after each bite was a delight to the last sip.

At The Block, rustic and earthy, good florals, entering window and decanting definitely helped.

Found this very tannic at this point. Rating my enjoyment of it today, not future potential. Drank after an hour of aeration.
