  • A Friday night wine with Rib Eye, Black Cherry with hints of Cocoa, Vanilla. Good balance with soft supple tannins and just enough acidity. Finish is long with touch of cedar and cinnamon. Smooth velvety Napa cab and surprisingly soft for Howell Mtn but excellent never the less.

  • Dark in the glass. Nose of black earth and bitter chocolate with some cassis. Fairly closed nose after about 90 minutes in the decanter. Taste is more open with red cherry, black currant, and tea, although still a very classic and sophisticated wine. Powerful body and tannic structure. This one doesn't even hint at 7 years of age and likely has several decades of good drinking ahead of it.

  • 94, bordering on a 95, for me. Minimal decant of 60-90 min at home and recorked, opened tableside and enjoyed at a local steakhouse with a family birthday. Very soft and full integrated. Fruit is more red than black and the bottle is nearly fully ready with only a slight over indulgence of oak noted. Sweet aromatics on the nose, cherry. blackberry fruit. Briar notes and lead pencil have toned down a bit in the past 18 months. Rounded tannins. A real delight for the price. Great qpr.

  • I’m a big fan of Cimarossa, especially after visiting back in 2018. Stunning property, people and wines.

This is Cimarossa’s blend of all vineyards. Definitely a bit more soft and approachable in its youth, though Cimarossa isn’t a producer that is normally pop and pour. Signature red clay is apparent here, with notes of red and black currant, espresso, and graphite. Gorgeous balance on the palate with sweet herb crusted black cherries, blackberries, cherry liqueur, sandalwood and fine grained tannins on the finish. As expected, this is a beautiful expression of Rian (dark soft fruits), Levante (bright tannic structure) and Ponente (savory soft fruits). I decanted this about 2hrs and it was delicious. Enjoy now.

  • A blend of the 10 different blocks of the Cimarossa vineyard on Howell Mountain and made by Mia Klein! Consistently delivers and at an exceptional price! Mountain fruit, bramble, spice, tobacco. Very well balanced and drinking wonderfully. My last on hand, need to get more!
