Average / OK, depending on personal taste. This was given to us by a guest years ago. Based on TNs I thought this would work well with grilled store-bought chicken shawarma. I thought it worked pretty well, but did get tired of it, while my spouse got much too much vanilla and extract and didn't finish the glass. We ended up dumping the bottle, which still weighed a clownishly high 2lb 3oz when fully emptied (compare that with the excellent and ageworthy Tablas Creek Esprit, which is only 10oz more completely full, with cork). Anyway, this was OK to me, drinkable, but hinting at headaches to come (I thought that and upon writing this note my spouse said 'that's a headache in a bottle'), felt manipulated, very ripe, extracted, and a touch sweet.
But what do I know, Luca Maroni gave it (I mean *sold* it) a '99' as proudly displayed on the neck of the bottle.
Meh. Me: 77 / Spouse: 67

Definitely "modern style" Montepulciano d'Abruzzo here with lots of new French oak.
Ripe strawberries, black cherries, blackcurrant, smoke, vanilla, espresso, dirt/earth. Medium + body, medium tannin. Good example of the style, but I feel it relies a bit too much on the oak to be truly interesting.

Escuro. Longo.

Fruit forward, but very soft tannins. Maybe a bit cooked, but still enjoyable. Could use a little more acidity.
