To me, this is just garbage! As a winemaker, to allow this to leave the vineyard should be a crime. Drinking this is like sucking down vanilla extract, it is unbelievably unpleasant. I don't even know what to do with it as cooking wine without ruining my food. The bottle is impressively thick and heavy. Considering the wine, the whole thing is utterly ridiculous! Luca Maroni gave it 99pt, prominently displayed on the bottle. Mr Maroni, as a wine critic, is dead to me.

Deep purple color. Aromas of black cherry and vanilla with an herby hint. Big mouth feel, with loads of sweet red cherry and vanilla bean, hollow mid palate and a cocoa note on the quick ending. This is acting more like a Merlot from central valley California than a Monte, unfortunately. Shows no real character or expression, like gobs of lipstick on a shallow soul. The good? Nothing offensive.

Sweet red fruit and vanilla laced nose, with hints of pine forest. Rather broad on the palate initially, it shows rich, sweet cherry fruit, but is tempered with some sour cherry and a good grit of tannin. Not overly complex, but certainly attractive, crowd pleasing, and pleasant.

Nose: fruit forward, loads of red cherries. Very to none oak. Palate: Low tannin, very sweet (surprisingly it’s 14% alc), loads of freshness. Simple and straightforward. Medium length. Medium body
Overall, a crowd pleaser that’s easy to drink and slightly sweet. Not complex but not terrible either. will do well in party.
