  • Just a quick taste, but a very good taste! For me, the signature of Chandon de Briailles is ultra-pure fresh fruit and clear whole-cluster fermentation notes, and this wine stayed true. Blue and red fruits are ripe and fresh, mint and other green leaves, a little petrichor and dried pine needles, hints of violets and raw meat. Supple and silky, with fine tannins and integrated acidity, this is open-knit and soft as young Corton goes, but I think Marechaudes isn't typically a very serious example of the appellation. Lovely today, but should develop and open up for a few years and last many beyond that.

  • Dark fruit, minerality, fresh, lots of structure and grip. Powerful tannins, good fruit and length. Very promising. 92-93+
