Perhaps one of the most distinctive wines I've ever produced. Decanted to help the regal reduction that is more feral than flinty blow off. Rich but fresh, edges are rounding a bit but this is still quite youthful. Drinking very well, but no rush. I can't find my vinification notes, but I bet this was bottled with 35ppm free SO2, under DIAM 10 54mm.

It’s hard to place this wine. It has the characteristic mouthfeel of really good Chardonnay, coating your cheeks with a creamy feeling (malic acid?) while a bolt of citric acid shoots down the middle of your tongue. It’s got the nuttiness of a slightly oxidized white wine. There’s a reductive flintiness that reminds of me of a PYCM I had a few months ago. It even has the seashell-y minerality of a high quality Chablis.
I normally associate Dundee Hills with volcanic Pinot, but this is so good I can’t believe everyone doesn’t grow Chardonnay here. Morgen Long is a hyped producer, and this bottle proves the hype is justified.
Pale straw. Nicely rich nose, toasty reductive with a touch of oatmeal. Clean, elegant, mid weight, more here than the leaner Loubejac alongside, a baritone versus its tenor. Mineral line, good length and persistence through the finish. Excellent. ****
Austin Offline; 8/24/2018-8/25/2018 (Kevin's House): Pale in the glass. Very generous and unusual nose, floral like a Viognier but deeper, with a touch of reduction. More Chardonnay-like on the palate, with citrus and tropical notes. Good balance, with a shortish but clean finish. I would drink this young. Unusual but quite interesting. 13% abv

Mainly Oregon (Noizé): Single blind. Attractive nose, oatmeally PY style nose. Lovely texture. Grippy chalky minerality with a nicely floral top note. PY in Puligny here. ****1/2
