  • These 4th generation growers have been producing their own Champagne since 1929 and are located in the town of Chouilly. They own 18 ha spread across 40 parcels. 100% Chardonnay from their oldest Chouilly Grand Cru vines in the Cote des Blancs which are planted on shallow chalk soils. 6g/l dosage. I previously had the 2007 and 2008 vintages of this wine and this 2012 was the best. Light yellow color. Moderate bead. Cotton candy nose. Very bright on the palate with notes of chalk and almonds. 94 points.

  • Clear - Medium Gold - Aggressive mouse. Steady stream of fine bubbles throughout. Definite lees / bread / brioche heavy on nose. Green apple, lemon zest, minerality. Creamy. M+ to high acid, Med Alc (12.5% Abv)

Notes from winemaker: 6y on lees aging.

Special Club: Concept started in 1971 for 'Grower Champagne'. Bottle with a special shape, created exclusively for them & used only by them. The Club comprises 28 artisan wine makers, selected from the finest areas of the Champagne region, each one recognized for the quality of their work. The Club is the only organization in Champagne to select its members according to a set of unrelenting quality standards:
Each champagne is subject to two blind tastings (once at the still wine stage before bottling and again after 3 years ageing in bottle) by a panel of passionate and distinguished oenologists and wine makers.

A Special Club champagne may only be made in outstanding vintage years. 4 years aging minimum is required.
