  • Deep red, medium weight.
Bright fruits, black and red, earth and dark spice.
Intense berries , red and black , dark spice , soft earth, some violets . Strong tannins , very Barolo like, fine but mouth coating. Plenty of acidity too. Flavours are youthful , sweet berry and spice, more primary than a Barolo would be, but the earth is there. A bit like a particularly tannic Volnay in style , with more earthy dark fruits .

  • Nothing to add to my January note. Still an amazing and compelling wine.

  • Amazing nose with fougere and baking spice - like Angel after it has dried. A bit austere and almost ascetic on the palate. Dark fruits, clove and Chartreuse-like herbal (old verte if you want to be a dick about it.) Grows off a great body with kirschy smacks and even a little dark chocolate. Slowly powers up over time and becomes a true fullback of a wine. Fascinating contrast to some other Bairrada Baga that come across too easy (not that that is a bad thing…) Brilliant stuff.
