Look at that golden hue. Nectar from the gods, some would say. The bouquet is more flamboyant than other vintages with bruised apple, tropical fruit, citrus & that toasty oak.
It’s delectable, old school, hearty, earthy, refined, and with a crisp, acidic flourish on the palate that makes it very hard to sip as opposed to swill.
I call this “old school goodness” every time I uncork - nothing to add except “what a wine to lie down”- Wow.
Like Olympic judging, sometimes the gold does not go to the best, even if the marks are highest.
