  • This is a fine Saint-Chinian that nicely evokes, and channels, the wild, rocky, mountainous elements of the region with its prominent minerality and notes of sun-baked blackberry and herbaceous garrigue. A characteristic GSM blend, it's mostly Syrah (78%), with much less Grenache (20%) and only a tiny amount of Mourvèdre (2%), and that's very much reflected in these aromas and flavours reflective of both terroir and varietal (there's also some typical Syrah black pepper adding a touch of spice). There isn't much of the meatiness common to these blends, but this is more about elevation than earthy funk, and while it's rather hot at 14.5% ABV, the heat seems to work well alongside the ripe fruit and soft tannins, though a bit of racy acidity would help with the balance.

Beau potentiel.

  • A blend of 78% Syrah, 20% Grenache, and 2% Mourvèdre that has a fresh, medium-high to highly aromatic nose of mineral followed by fruity blackberry, dark berry, and herbal notions. It is full-ish bodied on the palate with more dark berry and mineral notes joined by touches of smoke, spice, and peppery herbs. It has supple, integrated tannins and very good acidity, while the finish is long with curranty notes.

  • Bien réussi encore, un rouge polyvalent avec personnalité.
