My lone bottle of this vintage that I found when moving some wine around. I really love the Massican bottles so much when I have them. Not much of a white wine guy in general but love supporting Dan because he is just one of the best in the business. This could last longer in the cellar but I would say drink it now for peak enjoyment.

For me, the star of the Massican line-up is Annia, which has become (along with Enfield Citrine Chardonnay) one of our house whites. This sauvignon blanc is less distinctive and exciting, but it is an eminently mellow and drinkable wine, a compelling backdrop for food (lobster bisque with fresh corn, in this case), and an impressive centerpiece when poured from a magnum at a large dinner party.

We served a magnum at a dinner party and our guests all went apeshit -- excitement, not anger. Very light color, with some weight, no sweetness, moderate acidity, a suggestion of spritz, beautiful balance and alluring flavors of ginger and passion fruit. A fortuitous match with filets of black sea bass in tomato water.

This bright and layered Sauvignon Blanc has put on more weight since I tasted it last year (10/19 - 91 points). Light yellow in color, light in body, nose of wet grass, grapefruit, and gooseberry. Tastes of orange marmalade, lime peel, and cantaloupe, with a more settled and viscous finish (but still plenty of acidity). 13.7% alcohol. In its drinking window now, this wine is an incredible value for $30.

Same as prior bottle from May 2019, perhaps better. Sorry this is the last bottle from this vintage; wish I had more!
