Opened by mistake! Torn label, thought it was 2010. So drank them next to each other. The nose here needs a half hour for the bottle funk to blow off and then shows very pretty dried rose and red berry fruit, with earth and mineral notes underneath. Complex and graceful, less dense aromatically than the 2010. For the first couple hours these wines are different but almost equal in quality, but later it becomes clear that while this 2016 is very lovely, and should be gorgeous in 10 years, the 2010 is a step up. Not a matter of relative stages of development, I think. The 2010 simply has a higher thread count.

La Paulée de NY Grand Tasting (Pier 60 - NYC): Intense floral and black cherry nose. A wow palate with silky and rich fruit that has a distinct mineral steak. Lively and fresh. Delicious now, should get better with time. 92-94

La Paulée de New York Grand Tasting (Pier Sixty - New York NY): Tasting, brief note. Rich start with bright aromas and flavors, faint spice and floral hints. Good+ weight with an engaging mineral-driven finish. I typically prefer this over Santenots, but for 2016 prefer the latter.

樱桃、李子、香草、甘草、咖啡豆和泥土气息。芳香感与入口的挺拔令人精神振奋,而中段的融合、饱满与柔韧,又展现出上佳的变化可塑性。

Still green and somewhat closed at this stage. Lots of potential.
