Pale Gold. A renowned Chardonnay vineyard in the Santa Rita AVA. Up and coming winemaker. Exceeds my expectations with a most memorable wine. Best Chardonnay by a good margin I've had from Deovlet.
I am not a loyal fan of California Chardonnay, even from the best producers. Usually tasty enough but ultimately lacking in vibrant structured fruit, if not way too fat and tropical. This Sanford and Benedict rendition is superb in every way, with a tight core of fruit and acidity, aromas of bergamot zest, tart apple, almost ripe pear, enhanced with light custard and vanilla notes, white peach and striking mineral in the mouth, and a long, firm and viscous, caramel lemon finish.

Delicious, tropical fruit, banana, caramel, vanilla. The oak is in check.
