When I first tasted right out of the bottle, it was disjointed and disappointing. But after 30 minutes or more in the decanter, it came together. The acid was right , the fruit was still lush and strong (very Napa style) , tannins were silky, and the finish was soft and long. Really turned out fine. Give it up to an hour to breathe and it will find itself.

Nose is a bit reticent, spicy, raspberry. on the palate, hints of oak, highlands malt scotch, moderate to drying tannins, chocolate and almost too ripe red cherry. Not a long hold, I would say drink within 3 years.

Still lush and strong. Maybe at its best right now.

At peak, mild, caressing tannins with a bit of cracked pepper, blueberry and bitter chocolate. Nose has a nice, blue fruit aromatic lift
