Retail $65. Big. Ass. Bottle. 100% Syrah. Finally, I listened to myself and popped this last bottle before it started to turn, and i might be close. Still fantastic, but the stewed aspect might be more prominent. Otherwise, similar notes. Excellent. 92 Points.
Retail $65. Big. Ass. Bottle. 100% Syrah. It has been an amazing (at least for me) five years since I have tried this wine, and holy cow. While there is a touch of stewed fruit, this is really amazing (and I am not talking about the fact that my thumb disappears in the punt of the bottle as I pour. Dark, on the verge of brooding, with intense black fruit (blackberry, plum)., with intense spice notes (black pepper and cumin). The palate is quite tart, in an old school/old wine kinda way. Whoa. I do not drink a whole lot of Cornas, ... but I should. And drink now.
Lighter color purple with more transparency than might be expected. Opens with dark fruit, but it is subdued, transitions to a little bit of pepper and tapenade. Relatively short finish. Everything was in balance, though the wine seemed a bit austere. Might be slightly past its peak. 87 points.

Wine is at a good place. Integrated and showing some finesse for cornas but still with that life /texture on the palate providing great lift and structure. Not massive in the mouth but with a solid presence. Fruit is an equal partner with secondary flavors on the palate. Fun mature cornas.

Retail $65. 100% Syrah. Dark cherry and earth. Whoa. I was worried about this wine as it does not have the most glowing reviews on CT. But those were written a while ago. Now? Whoa. There is a bit of funk with the dark cherry, which is good. And there is verve. Which is extra-good. On the palate, tarte and more verve. Whoa. Earthy and ethereal this is gangbusters. thedrunkencyclist.com
