  • My last bottle of this delicious wine ! Excellent on night one, very good on night two, but faded by night three, so I think that you should drink up. I doubt that this will make it to AG's drinking window of 2030 except for bottles coming straight from the property. Consistent with the year, it's a lush wine with prominent dark fruit, decent acidity, and a lovely balance. There are also lovely aromas of leather, wood and herbs. This wine is one to buy in almost every vintage, at $25 it's an excellent QPR.

  • Great upon opening, with nice ripe red an black fruits with a slight sweet touch. After 2 hours of air, the fruit recedes and the taste focuses more on mocca and coffee notes. However, the remaining 1/3 camped in the fridge overnight and was still going strong the dat after. Drink up, this is at peak

  • How I wish I had bought two cases of this instead of only six bottles ! This wine (L1111) continues to improve in the cellar and should be great though 2032. Decanted two hours, it's a great expression of Sangiovese as a food wine with balance, smoothness, and good structure, tannin and acid. It is very savory, with some complexity of dark spices and tobacco, and a sweet cherry finish with a lingering mineral and cherry pit aftertaste. At $25 or less this has a very good QPR.

  • Wow. More than three years since my previous bottle, this wine (L1111) has evolved beautifully ! Despite being decanted three hours before dinner, it was even better on night two. It is a sappy, mouth-watering wine with a great acid and tannin structure, a medium++ body, great balance, some mid-palate sweetness, and a savory finish. It's a classic food wine, not for cocktails. I don't think it has entered its peak drinking window yet, so this is probably a wine to drink 2025-2033 if stored properly. In addition to its great fruit and classic Sangiovese character, it has a savoriness (think rosemary and other herbs) that makes it compelling. Very good QPR.
