PnP. Medium/dark garnet. Nose is delicious and jumps out of the glass. Beautiful asian spices, a potpourri basket, light red fruit, rose petal. This is a tremendously delicate and pretty yet expressive nose.
Palate has medium weight and a slightly creamy and seamless texture. Whereas the nose was more red, the fruit on the palate is darker, but the main notes are not fruit-primary but very secondary. There is some worn leather on the finish, even a tiny bit of caramel; there is some red licorice, there is some cured/salted meat.
This is really good, tons of complexity. I've had the '15 and the '17 of this bottle (obviously) much earlier in their respective lives than this '05; this shows what this can become I suppose, and it's beautiful.

OR/WA Sept 2019; 9/3/2019-9/7/2019: spritely, super fresh and a little sauvage to the nose. waxy red fruit w/out the wax and sauvage to the palate too.

Shared with some friends. Drinking exceptionally well right now. Flavors of leather, tobacco, dark fruits, big red cherries, and of course that classic Oregon earthiness. As always, an outstanding QPR on this one.

Delicious. In a great place, and I'm thinking it has more to come. Maybe not more than 5 years of more, but more.
