Appearance: clear, medium amber. Nose: Clean, medium intense. Raspberry, blackberry, toast, coffee, chocolate, plumb, black pepper.
Palate: Dry, medium+ acidity, medium body, medium, quite coarse tannins, medium alcohol, medium intense flavours with a medium+ finish. Raspberry, blackberry, toast, coffee, chocolate, plumb, black pepper, tomato leaf, ripe cherries.
This is a good quality wine with sufficient fruit, acidity and length, but it lacks complexity. The wine is suitable for bottle ageing; the fruits and acidities could develop into a more balanced wine.

MNB: Merlot (Home (Noe st)): (non-blind - my wine) Medium ruby color. Medium intensity nose. Some ripe blackcurrant, some leather, some leaves. Slight brett - mushroomy dog fur. Dry, medium body, 14% alcohol (actually 13.5%), elevated acid (zippy), medium plus tannins - slightly elevated but plush. No overt new oak - maybe just a hint of old cinnamon.
Production - 80% merlot, 20% cab - hand-picked and sorted - 30% new oak, 70% tank - 25 days of maceration in temp controlled concrete tanks Style Commercial Appeal
$30 - too expensive. Tastes $15.
