2022 Athens Wine Event (CTC , Athens): Tasted blind. Went of Viognier top end maybe even from the US. A very different GdP vs the rest of the vintages as this ( much like in 2019 when we had this last and failed to place it) is smokier, richer and probably with more Chardonnay than usual on top fo the toasty oak. Mango and exotic feels too, rich palate. Still a superb wine, joyful and just annoying we didn’t pick it up correctly. 93-94

For old times sake: Ripe yellow fruits and honey in the bouquet. On the palate a full bodied wine, a bit fat, bees wax, a touch of sweetness and good acidity.

Superb Roussane, tasted blind it seemed like great Condrieu from a vintage that wasn’t hot, because it’s not overripe, and it’s not oily. It is rich and floral, with pear, wisteria, and white plum notes. Plenty of acidity too and a very natural food friendly ripeness. White mineral dust comes through. I like this with a soft goat or raw milk cheese that’s not too strong. Or, a simple roast chicken or grilled pork chop. Let the wine shine. 7-10 years of great drinking ahead, but don’t wait.

Well-balanced, less tension than 2014.

Ripe, big and explosive white with exotic fruit, beewax and honey. Prefer his 16 over 15.
