NOSE: strong petrol, initially; green banana; hint of aquatic cologne scent; can't quite say why, but there is something about the Nose on this wine that brings me back to my first days of drinking Riesling ... love this!
BODY: medium rich golden yellow color; medium-light bodied.
TASTE: dry; lots of mineral; faint fruit, initially; medium+ acidity; seems tight; touch of woodsy spice; improved with air over first 2.5 hrs; a bit salinic at the 3 hrs mark; 12.5% alc. hidden; got increasingly better over 3.5 hrs on Day 1. Small pours on Day 2 and Day 3 were drop-dead delicious, and suggest this wine still needs time. Absolutely amazing.

Nice riesling with fine acid, which is integrated perfectly. Really high quality, nice fruit and length with something special. Drinking well now.

Van Steenderen Wines Grosse Gewächse 2017 Tasting (Restaurant Vineum, Rotterdam, NL): Tasted blind. Different nose from the other three wines in this flight, deep but one-dimensional on both nose and palate, nice acidity on the finish, develops well on the finish, good length. Question mark, not rated. Perhaps low level TCA?
