Nose: floral, spice and red fruit and touch of vanilla. Palate:Moderate tannins that could use a little more time to integrate and soften so pair it with appropriate dish. Good acidity and fresh red fruit.

Drank at Brenner’s Steakhouse, Houston. Pale to medium ruby color. Good mix of cherry, earth and dried flowers. Tannin very present at first open, but after 20 minutes in glass, mellowed out nicely. Medium finish.

Cigliuti with Claudia Cigliuti (Neive, Cuneo, Italy): A spicy, light, attractive and elegant bouquet showing rose floral, cherry, tar and dried herb nuances. On palate, the Barbaresco, as would be expected from the vintage, is refined and pure. Red and black fruits, earth, minerals and a herbaceous element (meant as a positive) dominate the flavour profile. Only mid weight, with chalky yet round tannins. A lovely, precise Barbaresco. Give it 3+ years.

Nice Barbaresco in a quite elegant style. Not overly complex but drinks well.

Really yummy but harsh tannins now. Will be great in 4-5 years.
