Opened this with Chris for our steak dinner... I recall a difficult cork made from some horrid rubbery material that just wouldn't come out. We immediately rejected it as harsh, funky and just generally plonky, and ended up drinking the markedly superior Catena '04 Malbec. However, on the second day the weird and bad nose wore off and it made for a perfectly adequate quaffing wine to accompany my farfalle and prosciutto dish. Not much nose left (thankfully) and a simple, two-note flavor of generic fruit and tannin with nothing in between. A clumsy wine, like a well-intentioned but drunk gaucho telling his story too loudly.

Nice wine. Malbec gentleness with good flavor and a bit of depth. Good quaffing wine.
