  • Orange wine. Color is deep yellow. Aromas of orange peel, herbs, sweet spices. Very dry with high acidity. Medium body.

  • Orange. Not much more to say. Both smell and taste is a mix of apricot, fig, peach, minerals, maybe pepper/spices, some wood and definitely wild yeast. Think good sour beer. Substantial skin contact, but not overdone. Did not at all find it so funky many online reviewers claim. For a grüner, this wine clearly operates a bit outside of the envelope. But having done the homework, there was a good idea of what to expect. And for an orange wine, it was actually quite restricted and splendidly balanced in my opinion. Did fatten up a tiny notch with air, but not essential to decant. Very easy to drink, and worked surprisingly well with mature cheese. Maybe a little short in the finish, given what the nose and initial kick hinted of. And yes, the price tag is probably a tad high for a wine at this level. But not more so than after having tasted this, the next Veyder-Malberg will surely be the too-expensive-to-buy-before-having-tested-what-Peter-Pan-is-capable-of stuff. Which I now am looking eagerly forward to.
