  • An interesting, characterful wine, and well priced. Made from Prié Blanc - an indigenous grape variety - from Italy's Valle d'Aosta. The 1.6 ha vineyard is high up (1,200 metres above sea level) at the foot of Monte Bianco, and not far from the Swiss border. Watery, light lemon colour. Pear, wet limestone, nectarine. dried herb, lemon citrus and white floral perfumes. In the mouth, light bodied with a touch of viscosity. Flavours of pear, mineral, hay, grapefruit and river boulder. Relatively complex and nuanced. Crisp, green apple acidity. Clean, precise and steely. A touch of salinity. Some savouriness. Admirably moderate alcohol (11% ABV). Finishes nice and dry. Drink over the next few years.
