Medium ruby colour. Red fruit, sour cherry, earthy notes, a hint of coffee and lovely spice notes, with pronounced acidity, slightly rustic tannin and limited length. A little disjointed, without much complexity or depth, even for a Rosso. Dry, black tea-leave like finish. Not the best vintage for this wine.

Sour cherry with a bite. That's basically it. Complexity, depth, sangiovese forrest flavours are all almost completely absent. The acidity is dominant, but it is still a juicy red, amazingly light in colour and with a tannic ending. Avoid partnering with food that has a sweet component. It might go well with a somewhat sour tomato sauce.

Pale, translucent cranberry red color with a hint of brick-orange hue. The nose feels restrained and somewhat all around the place with light aromas of sweet strawberries, some meaty tones, a little bit of raspberry juice, light floral notes of roses and a hint of truffle. The wine is dry, ripe and quite acid-driven with a medium body and surprisingly underwhelming flavors of strawberry juice, some meaty umami and a hint of cranberry. Overall the wine doesn't feel particularly thin, but lacking depth and intensity, making it feel somewhat hollow and slightly dilute. Good structure with the high acidity and medium tannins, but lacks the taste to stand up to the structure. The finish is medium-long with dry, acid-driven flavors of some cranberry, a little bit of strawberry, light meaty tones and a hint of sour cherry bitterness.
Not a bad wine per se, just very underwhelming and rather disappointing effort for a Rosso di Montepulciano. Normally I'd expect some sense of intensity and crunch typical of Sangiovese, but this was just rather bland and lacking in complexity and intensity. Feels like a Tuscan cheapo. Somewhat overpriced for the quality at 14,98€.

Had it with steak and it really held up. Very drinkable with good fruit.
