  • Dave's 40th birthday. My most exclusive tasting ever!!! (@ Bottles; Sas van Gent, Netherlands): In the bouquet chocolate and sweet licorice. On the palate the same impressions. Autumn forest and very soft acidity and tannin, some celery as well. The bouquet is the most beautiful and complex part of this wine.

  • The nose is very good from the start, driven, lush and seductive. Very good performance and very delicious but the price is already too expensive at this moment.

Glad to come back for drinking this wine again. Now I can confirm myself which wine I should go for. I better buy 2 bottles Lafite 1994 or 1975 Latour instead. 93-94/100

  • The Ultimate BBC (Burg, Bordeaux and Champagne) Dinner (Absinthe, Boat Quay): First time round with a Le Pin. From a supposedly off-vinatge, this was highly, highly impressive. It was probably the strongest 1994 Bordeaux I have had so far, and clearly my favourite from amongst the four right-banks in the night. This had a beautiful nose, with lots of wafting tobacco and cigar notes, some smoked capsicums, gentle drifts of plums and sweet blackberries and a nice flowery lilt bringing up the rear. Really nice. The palate was quite beautiful, with a glorious melting balance and the slinkiest, silkiest tannins swathed around glowing flavours of plums, blackcherries and berries wed to a nice umami-infused backdrop. While certainly not big, it had a completeness and depth that has alluded all but the best of the 1994s. What the vintage has added, I think, is a lovely sense of lightness and purity to the wine. Great finish too, with a wonderful ring of tobacco drifting into the distance. Everything is in the right place with this one - it was such a charmer, with its refined structure and superb balance making it a real pleasure to drink. Some almost thought this was too perfect, preferring the rather edgier, more hedonistic Lafleur on the same flight. I really enjoyed it though. Great stuff at a lovely place for drinking.

  • 1994 Bordeaux: Le Pin 1994, I drink it after L’Evengile 1994. Wowww…its clean and deep reminds me of Petrus but only the first glass then it changes. The structure is great but the aftertaste is better. Many layers is going down…layer upon layer…This is a delicious wine, the character of 1994 vintage makes this wine strong and the wine-maker makes this wine amazing.
After 4 hours, the last glass, it’s getting close to be perfect in texture and structure so…next bottle I must have more time for it.

Days passed by...I can't get it out of my head...I'm falling in love with this bad girl ? How pity I am...

    Drink now - 2019....94/100.....

  • I think Parker seriously under rated this hedonistic beauty. Tasted next to the brawnier 1994 Petrus, this is all about purity, flavor, finesse and length. It is hard to think of a sexier wine.
