Lemon/lime, more than the green apple I normally expect from a Vinho Verde, although green apple comes in on the finish, along with mellow apple-juice tones. Honestly, nothing special here – maybe because it’s a few years old, and I definitely think of Vinho Verde as a wine to drink young, but I guess the wine bar still had some in stock. I think this is past its prime (hence a couple pity points), just not as vibrant and sharp as it should be, I’d be curious about a newer vintage.

Consistent with previous bottle. Very similar to the 2016 vintage. Light yellow in color, this wine showed muted aromas of lime. nectarine, saline and minerals on the nose. The mouth feel brought firm acidity, more citrus and bone dry notes. The finish had brisk acidity which was well integrated with the minerality and subtle saline elements. 12% abv.
Purchased for $10US, this wines aromatics are muted but the overall taste is very enjoyable. The 12% abv makes it an excellent aperitif.
