This was gorgeous - fragrant and perfumed, but with real intensity behind it. Lots of sous bois and spice, with flashes of wood from the whole cluster fermentation. The fruit was almost like a spiced cherry compote and there was some lovely mineral texture. Tannins are fully resolved. Drinking beautifully, but will probably keep another few years.

Pinotpalooza (Carriageworks, Redfern): wield ferment and meaty, red berry fruit, spice. Bone dry a little stalks lends a green note to the fruit. All travel long. Balanced. Okay.

Nose shows a big gunpowder note, plus raspberry and okra. Dense, sticky mouthfeel, with strong, sappy tannin. Flavours of hops, parsley, and blackberry. Interesting, but weird, and slightly off-putting.
