  • This is in a fabulous place, balancing that strawberry freshness I love in this wine with a hint of yeasty bready maturity. No rush either - I’ve got 1 more bottle and will probably save for another 2-3 years

  • Disgorged spring 2018. Striking appearance, light gold rim blending well into a light salmon core. Quicky fading mousse. Aromas of cooked and dehydrated red berries, sea coast, and warm white stones. Clear flavors of cold strawberry and earthy, smoky minerality, but limited complexity. Rich, long, but simple finish of yogurt and wheat germ. Not a stellar QPR at more than USD$60. Probably towards the end of its window, drink now. Very good to excellent 90.

  • It wouldn’t be Christmas morning without it!

  • The last glass was the best (slow ox for 30 minutes to start). Drank out of a large burgundy glass. Delightful.

  • Great night with new friends and a diverse lineup of wines. Thanks MJP for the introduction into True Vineyards which is one I have never had the opportunity to taste before (nor Outpost in general). Line up 2014 sparkling Soter Rose, 2016 Outpost True Vineyards Cabernet, 2014 Outpost True Vineyards Immigrant, 2013 Accendo and 2000 Vieux Chateau Certan. All wines were tasted upon PnP and we drank over five hours (slow ox) while allowing specific glasses to decant while we drank from others).

A little disappointed as a few of these vintages were very yummy. It’s a pleasant, medium to lite red fruit with plenty of freshness to find interesting with foods but didn’t stand on its own to be a very good wine. Maybe a touch past it’s prime?
